Support CodexHow

CodexHow is independently run and reader-supported. There's no venture funding behind it and no OpenAI sponsorship — just a standing commitment to re-check every published figure on a weekly cadence, which is real, recurring work.

Where a donation actually goes

Keeping this site honest costs more than hosting. Every model release, every pricing-page footnote change, and every renamed feature (Priority becoming Fast mode is a real example already on this site) means re-reading OpenAI's own pages and updating the facts module by hand, not on a whim but on a schedule the site's own build enforces. A donation, however small, is a direct vote for keeping that cadence real instead of letting the site quietly go stale the way most "reference" sites eventually do.

Other ways to support this site

If a donation isn't the right fit right now, sharing a specific page that solved a real problem for you, correcting a figure you noticed had drifted, or buying the Codex Cost Control Workbook all help in their own way — the workbook in particular pays directly toward maintenance while giving you something concrete in return.

No obligation created

Supporting this site doesn't buy influence over what it publishes. No donor has ever seen a page before it went up, and none ever will.

Why weekly, specifically

A monthly or quarterly re-check would miss real changes that have already happened by the time anyone noticed — a renamed feature, a repriced model, a rate-limit table that moved. Weekly is frequent enough that a genuine change is caught within days rather than months, and infrequent enough to actually sustain without burning out on busywork. That cadence, not a one-time launch, is what a donation is actually funding.
