Why This Site Publishes No Subscription Price

This page states a negative directly: no ChatGPT plan price, no Codex plan price, and no Claude plan price appears anywhere on this site, in any tool, table, or piece of prose. That's a deliberate editorial policy, not an oversight, and it's worth explaining why.

Why no subscription price is ever hardcoded

Every other figure on this site is checked against a dated, citable OpenAI source and re-verified on a standing schedule. Subscription pricing doesn't fit that model the same way per-token API pricing does — it varies by region, by currency, and by billing period, and it changes without the kind of stable, versioned page this site's other figures are checked against. Publishing a single number would mean publishing something likely already wrong for a meaningful fraction of readers the moment it shipped.

What this site does instead

Every tool that needs a subscription price for a comparison — a plan against metered usage, one ecosystem's plan against another's — asks the reader to enter it directly. The comparison is computed against real numbers the reader actually pays, which makes the output correct for their specific region and plan regardless of what this site could or couldn't verify centrally.

Why this makes the cross-provider comparisons more honest, not less

A tool that invented or estimated a number it couldn't fully stand behind would be a worse tool than one that asks the reader for it plainly — the second is more work for the reader but never silently wrong. Every comparison built this way is symmetric by construction: neither side of it gets a number this site invented, and neither ecosystem is favoured by a stale or approximated figure sitting quietly in a calculator's defaults.

This policy applies uniformly — Claude subscription tiers get the identical treatment as ChatGPT and Codex ones, for the identical reason.
